2024 focus

I strive for continuous improvement—getting a little bit better every day.

Following my 2023 review, here is my focus for 2024.

Health — Body, Mind, Soul

Never compromise health. It always comes first.

Do

  • Maintain a simple morning routine: cold shower, skincare, brush teeth, and posture exercises. Bonus: brain exercises, read, and breakfast.

  • Maintain a simple evening routine: journal and read. No electronic devices.

  • Maintain a sleep routine as close as possible to 23:00 - 07:00.

  • Focus on improving at tennis while having fun.

  • Go to the gym once a week and do calisthenics once a week, focused on strength and mobility.

  • Warm up before and stretch after every training session.

  • Meal prep in weekend. Eat balanced and healthy.

  • Block out time and periods for introspection.

  • Get my driver license. Find a GP and physiotherapist in Amsterdam.

2 day rule: never skip 2 days of a habit in a row (unless I’m really sick, or there is something completely out of my control blocking me from practicing the habit).

Don’t

  • Start new sports.

  • Take advanced PADI course.

  • Watch series and vlogs.

  • Check social media unless I have a specific goal.

  • Consume noisy news and rubbish content.

Work — Mission, Growth, Money

Focused effort on needle-moving work.

Do

  • Do one thing at a time, with focus. Implement deep work sessions.

  • Start every work day with a clear agenda and top goal.

  • Document my learnings. Publish at least 1 blog post per week.

  • Complete 1 Reforge live cohort with full dedication.

  • Invest and save every month right after receiving my salary.

Don’t

  • Multi-task and constantly check email & messages.

  • Perfect inconsequential tasks.

  • Buy material things that I don’t need.

Relationships — Family, Friends, Romance

Intentionally deepen the relationships I care about.

Do

  • Strive for daily evening family calls and be fully present.

  • Schedule regular catch-ups and activities with friends.

  • When traveling, optimize for experiences with family and friends.

  • Learn to be happy alone.

  • Talk more to strangers and spread positivity around.

  • Engage at least once a month in the Reforge & Lenny communities.

Don’t

  • Spend time with people who drain my energy.

  • Use dating apps.
